AudioBridge

A Windows-first desktop utility designed to make OBS Studio and Discord audio routing easier to detect, understand, troubleshoot, and eventually configure through guided local workflows.

PausedPhase 0 PrototypeWindows First

Last updated: August 29, 2026. AudioBridge is currently paused at its local Phase 0 prototype checkpoint. The project has a functioning Tauri/React/TypeScript/Rust desktop foundation and real Windows/OBS/Discord detection work, but it is not yet integrated with Horizon infrastructure or prepared for public downloads.

Current State

  • Development is paused at the Phase 0 Windows prototype.
  • The project remains laptop-local and is not integrated with Horizon infrastructure.
  • No public or tester download is currently being offered.
  • Official AudioBridge product branding/iconography has not yet been finalized.

Implemented Foundation

  • Tauri desktop application scaffold with React and TypeScript UI plus Rust backend commands.
  • Working desktop shell and Tauri command bridge.
  • Windows edition/version/build, CPU, RAM, and audio-device detection foundations.
  • Basic OBS Studio and Discord detection plus OBS WebSocket checks.
  • Local settings, custom executable paths, scan preferences, path validation, and report/export foundations.

V1 Direction

  • Detection and setup guidance for OBS Studio and Discord audio workflows.
  • Presets and clearer routing guidance without replacing OBS or Discord.
  • Diagnostics and local reports for troubleshooting.
  • Local profiles and reusable setup information.

Roadmap

Implemented

Phase 0 desktop foundation

The Windows prototype can bridge the UI to Rust commands and gather useful local system, audio-device, OBS, Discord, and OBS WebSocket information.

Paused

Local prototype checkpoint

The project remains intentionally local while the usefulness of the Windows OBS + Discord setup-assistant concept is evaluated.

When Development Resumes

Guidance, presets, diagnostics, and profiles

Continue from detection into guided setup, reusable presets, stronger diagnostics, local reports/profiles, and controlled tester validation before considering broader integration or distribution.

Repository Milestone

August 19, 2026

Initial AudioBridge project baseline

The Windows-first Phase 0 prototype was committed with the Tauri desktop scaffold and the initial local detection and troubleshooting foundation.
